Quietube
Quietube is an easy to use bookmark site for watching Youtube videos and other online videos without distractions. YouTube was created in February of 2005 and has over 2.5 billion Monthly users today. This platform has been a growing one since its invention. In March of 2009 James Bridle created a platform that could be used to help get rid of distracting videos such as ads or many similar videos while using Youtube called Quietube (Quiet-tube). Quietube has since been able to be used by over millions of people.
Quietube quickly became known around the world just as Youtube quickly became a frequent website to be used around the globe. Popular sites that Quietube has been featured on include CNET, Lifehacker and Buzzfeed. These widely used websites helped Quietube gain over hundreds of thousands of visits in its first month of creation and is a platform that can still be used today. In fact, this tool became so popular soon after its release that it quickly had about two million views, with an average of 10 to 20 thousand visits daily.
Quietube was also heavily used in the Middle East. The creator of the platform, James Bridle, wrote a blog post about the quick success of this platform. He also wrote about some important information of where the majority of the users for Quietube were from. The Middle East apparently was a huge area to use this platform because Youtube was censored at the time of this release and many people in the Middle East were using this tool to help them get around that loophole and access Youtube. James Bridle even says in his post on Booktwo.org:
Quietube can still be used to access Youtube in other countries that this popular website is censored at.
